Hey there scrapbookers….

Anyone that knows me, knows I consider September to be the REAL New Year. That's when things get back into a groove. Summer is pretty much ended (hey, I missed the beginning of this one!) and we're looking forward to routines.

A good routine to get into is…scrapbooking! That's right. What's more important than preserving your family's memories and history. Someone's gotta do it–or should–and so it might as well be you.

Really. Did you ever think about all those digital photos you take? Do you back up? To where? What happens when your computer crashes or the disk drive you saved to becomes obsolete? That's right. NO MORE PHOTOS. Never mind those boxes of unidentified negatives your parents had. You will have nothing.

Yikes. Time to get some prints made and get them into albums. And whether you do that with Project Life (more about that another time), regular scrapbooks like 12 x 12 size, sometimes with lots of detail but, yes, scrapbooking is therapy as well as work! Or maybe, you're like me and prefer mini books.

Oh yeah! Mini books are MY thing. With fall fast approaching (yesterday), I took advantage of a day with no plans and made myself a mini.

Here's a peek:

I love how the cover turned out. This album has tons of space to add lots of embellishments and it's only got three pages! Of course, each page holds a minimum of six photos–and that's without adding any pockets or foldouts! I will be able to get way more than that in. It'll be perfect for some photos to recap the summer.

I used Kraft paper to cover chipboard, then covered the pages with pieces cut from a pad of K&Company papers designed by Brenda Walton.

I really wanted to use this paper….

by Glitz Designs but I'm hoarding it. Really. I was worried I wouldn't "like" the album and I didn't want to waste my paper on it.

Do you ever do that? Do you feel like scrapbooking with certain papers will be "wasting" them? And so you keep these papers forever and ever because you don't want to use them up? I have one piece of paper that looked almost like an x-ray paper. I could have used it for an ultrasound story or something but it was pretty cool paper. And so–yes–I still have it! (And that's just ONE piece!)

Tell me about a paper that you have kept for a long time. One that you've never, ever used because you didn't want to "waste" it!

And don't forget to register for an upcoming crop this fall.

See you at The Scrapbook Room!
