Have you been checking and wondered where I've been! Me too! Where does the time go? Can't believe it took me that long to do a post. I think it's high time we get back into scrapbooking. Let's see what I can do to get us all inspired. I'm getting reinspired these days. Here's how:
Once a month my writer's biz group members have "art therapy" day. Our belief is that taking time for art–whatever that may be–is good for the soul and therefore makes us more productive the rest of the time.
I'm here to tell you it's definitely therapy!
Today I managed to fit in some projects that I'll be sharing with The Scrapbook Room in the near future.
Here's a few sneak peeks:
I found some new foil tape techniques that I'll be sharing at upcoming crops.
Aren't these flowers pretty? You can make them any colour you want with alcohol inks! You really need to see these to fully get the great texturizing in this tape.
This is also foil tape…and embossing…and gesso…and alcohol ink…and archival ink….I love the effect but again, it looks so much better in person. If you're not able to make it to one of the upcoming crops, maybe I'll be able to demo it at the shop later!
How crazy is this? Art journalling is my new little interest. Here, I've drawn and coloured a paper in a crazy design just randomly drawn with a pencil. Those copic markers sure are nice and bright–but they better be for the price! Still, well worth it, I'd say. The mask was made from a magazine image, set down and covered with black paint. I'll let you know what I do with it in the end. For now, it was just a technique I wanted to try.
And this is a mini album that looks like it comes packaged in it's own neat little box. Super easy and I'll be sharing it at upcoming crops!
This is the album opened up. It still doesn't look like much but I'll post photos of a finished one another day. It's so super cute. You'll want to make a bunch of them!
This is a different mini album. I had it in the works and needed to finish it. Ribbon binding was new for me.
Here's a little peek at the pages. I'm not posting a view of all the pages here but if you want to see them up closer, go to my Facebook page (The Scrapbook Room) and see them there.
What do you think? Would you like to take part in a day of "art therapy"?
