I didn't get any junk mail???!!!! What's up with that?

Sounds a little silly but I'm wanting it this week to finish my mini album. Thankfully, I said I would be using paper that came across my path so here goes….

Today's finds….include one lone envelope (a boring one at that) in the mail, one deposit envelope from the ATM and my receipt from the ATM, a piece of corrugated cardboard, some paper scraps that I brought home from the shop (in a file folder) to sort out. These ones fell out of the side of the file folder onto the floor so I took it they were meant to be!

First, I used the orangy specialty paper (it doesn't look very orange in the photo) to mat the left side page. I realized my belly band left from yesterday would match perfectly. Then I added two pieces of paper. Photos or notes can be added to these later. Note how I punched out a circle, folded in half, then stapled near the bottom to catch the mats so they don't slip right through.

Bellyband

Here it is with the mats in place.

Next, I moved to the inside of this page. I didn't have a lot to work with so I added some Dylusions Ink Spray. Dylusions is like Glimmer Mist except the colours are way more vibrant. I really like this one!

Here's a look at that inked bank deposit envelope. Do you think the words will look stupid or will no one notice? I'm hoping for the "no one will notice" with all the other stuff there's going to be to look at.

I made a tag out of part of the plain envelope (the one I got in the mail today). It was too plain and white (you know I hate plain!) so I stamped on it with a script stamp. It's faint but really helps. The tie is a strip from the corrugated cardboard. I also stamped the swirl I used yesterday and today I added some orange gemstones in random spots.

Here's a look at the tag. It tucks right into that pocket.

And here's the inside of the page on the right-hand side. This little book or flip-out page is made with that piece of corrugated cardboard, misted with the Dylusions and inked a bit too with the black distress ink. I repeated use of the swirl stamp, the orange gemstone and the circle tab. This corrugated cardboard is nice and soft. I love using pieces of it in scrapbooking!

Cardboardbook

Here's the cardboard book opened up. How do you like my ATM receipt? I stamped on it with the script stamp and I think you don't notice so much that it's a receipt. Agree?

So there you have it. That's all I did today. Here's what I have left: I've still got that little note from Day 1–I'm hoping to find somewhere to use it. I've also got a nice square of white from that envelope but not sure where to use it yet.

Here's a look at the book partially open.

And here's another look at the cover. Hopefully I'll find some really good scraps tomorrow! Any thoughts on this project?
