There was plenty of Cinnamon Raisin French Toast on hand for the small crowd at the two day crop. And boy was it good! (The crop AND the french toast!)

Scrapbookers got as many as ten or more pages done in the two days (24 hours of scrapbooking). They also managed to test their trivia skills in their bid to win tickets for the free draws.

The next two day crop may be April 5 and 6. I’m also considering a two or three day at an alternate location (no sleeping accommodations) at that time.

Here’s another photo of some of our weekend scrapbookers at work. The cat is my Aunt’s and I think maybe he was looking for her as she’s usually here for these events! He moved around on a few chairs, peered up at a few layouts and then went to sleep!

Here’s me with our breakfast…

and here’s a closer look at it

And here’s the recipe…

Cinnamon Raisin French Toast Soufflé  (from Autumn Pond Bed & Breakfast)
1 large loaf Cinnamon Raisin Bread (chopped — enough to fill 13 x 9 in. pan)
12 oz. Cream Cheese, softened
6 oz. Butter, softened
3/4 cup Maple Syrup (divided)
10 eggs
3 cups Half & Half
Cinnamon Sugar
Buttered Maple Syrup (50:50 mix of butter and maple syrup)Place chopped cinnamon raisin bread in a well buttered 13 x 9 in. glass pan. Mix cream cheese, butter and 1/4 cup maple syrup until smooth. Spread on top of bread, leaving some openings through which to pour egg mixture. Beat eggs, half & half and 1/2 cup maple syrup. Pour over bread and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Uncover and bake 50 to 55 minutes at 350°. Cut into squares and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serves 8 – 12(Sigh…)The crop sure was fun. Hope you can make it to the next one. OH and I spent several hours trying to get this post to look right and I’m giving up so forgive my formatting–I just wanted to share it with you. Also, if you click on the pictures, it will enlarge them should you want to take a closer look. Now I’m off to try figure out how to stitch two pictures together and if I do, I’ll post a layout.~Pauline

(Note for January 2020; For some reason these photos are still giving me heartache; they are too small and I can’t find the originals. I’ll keep searching for them but we just had that recipe at last weekend’s two-day crop and it’s still as yummy!)

  1. How was breakfast? Did it turn out good? I am dying to know how it works when you follow the recipe without missing part of it! hahaha
I know ours was so yummy at Christmas I bet it was really good!
This blog just teases me…makes me wish I lived closer!

  2. Bridgette;
It turned out awesome! It works great when you mix the milk IN with the eggs. We are still zapping the leftovers at home. I’d definitely make it again.
Incidentally, I thought it was so good, I emailed the B & B it came from, thanking them for sharing. The owner emailed me back thanking me for my comments (and noting that you might need permission from your cardiologist before you eat it! Haha!) and also sent me another recipe for a Peach Cobbler. I’ll try that one sometime then decide if I’m sharing it!

  3. Looks like you all have fun on your two day crop. I would have loved to have been there but North Bay is a bit of a drive for such a small amount of time.
Breakfast looks good and I will have to try it one day.
